Hotel a Portogallo Settentrionale

“I read a number of the negative reviews (after I had booked) and arrived at the hotel with anticipation of being disappointed. I am glad to say we had a lovely stay. Food was good, staff helpful, it is a lovely setting. I stayed in the river view suite and the room was great. Design good and lots of space. There is a lovely walk along the river. My only regret was that I had not figured where the hot buffet was at breakfast. I only spotted it when I was leaving. Thankfully, I was not there when...

“Hotel is very near to Subway rail. No soundproofing either to the outside or to the inside (plasterboard walls in a 4* hotel?). Breakfast very poor, at level of 2*. Restaurant for dinner at street poor restaurant level . But...they have on menu wine Porto 40th year old and we have ordered 2 glass (20 €/glass) and ask to see bottle. After 10 minutes the waiter told us that they put the port wine in their anonymous bottle. A 40th year wine that was removed from origial bottle to a restaurant...

“Hotel was amazing in every way. We stayed in 2 different rooms which were both unique and special. We loved the decor and art work and colours. Amenities were also wonderful. Gym area had everything in it that we needed Staff were great. Breakfasts extensive and very tasty.”

“The property is well situated about half way if doing the Douro drive loop. Grounds are lovely with rooms overlooking vineyards - very serene and quiet. Lots of onsite parking. Staff encourage picking and eating fruit off the trees - the oranges are excellent! There is a nice pool area. At check in staff member was very helpful suggesting points of interest, restaurants, etc. The room and washroom was very dated with a large veranda. There was mold on the ceiling in the washroom.
